David graduated in 1980 from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and for the next 42 years, he was a condominium and community association lawyer in Ohio. He was the initial founder of the firm Kaman & Cusimano and under David’s guidance, the firm grew from a single office in Cleveland to offices also in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Toledo. In 2021 David received the highest national honor by being elected President of the College of Community Association Lawyers, a group of less than 200 lawyers from across the country.

Upon his retirement at the end of 2022, David moved back to Sandusky and in December, 2024, founded the Downtown Sandusky Cedar Point Historical Museum, where today he serves as Executive Director.
