Phillip Smith Jr. earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The Ohio State University in 2018 with a minor in Music Theory.   Phillip then attended Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2021.

While attending Brandeis, Phillip clerked with the Warren County Common Pleas’ Magistrates on a wide variety of matters.  Phillip also worked with the University’s Office of Sponsored Programs Administration (OSPA) negotiating contracts with various pharmaceutical companies to allow them to use the University’s resources to perform clinical trials.  Prior to joining Kaman & Cusimano, Phillip handled a wide variety of cases ranging from estate planning to real estate litigation.  In 2023, Phillip’s practice was exclusively foreclosures on a state-wide scale.  This experience provided Phillip the necessary skills to help community associations in their assessment recovery.  Phillip understands that every community association is a non-profit corporation and as such, is able to use his experience to recover as much in assessments as possible, while at the same time provide sound, effective, and efficient legal advice to our clients.
