Partner Nicholas Meinert Presents at Northern Ohio CAI Chapter on the Corporate Transparency Act

On June 14, 2024, Partner Nicholas Meinert presented to the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Community Association Institute on the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). This federal law, which became effective on January 1, 2024, requires all specified corporations to register with FinCen by December 31, 2024.

Nick, who is also a member of Ohio CAI’s Legislative Action Committee, has been actively advocating for an exemption for non-profit community associations through legislative action. During the seminar, Nick provided valuable information on the history of the CTA, outlined who is required to register, explained the registration process, and discussed the potential penalties for incorrect filings.

Managing Partner Jay Cusimano was also present and introduced Nick at the presentation. Great job, Nick and Jay!
